The city of Norcross has a festive holiday line-up planned for the 2022 season. It kicks off with a holiday open house in the historic downtown area, and is centered around activities in the Downtown Norcross Christmas Village — a cheerful winter street festival that takes place on the first weekend in December.

You’ll also find a holiday concert, FREE winter carriage rides, and several opportunities for FREE photos with Santa.

Annual Tree Lighting & Holiday Celebration

Thrasher Park in downtown Norcross

The majestic tree that the city always used for the lighting ceremony was damaged in a storm and had to be removed earlier in 2022. So we’re not sure what this year’s tree lighting has in store — but according to the event web page, you can expect music, caroling, the Grinch, Santa’s arrival, and more.

Santa Claus will arrive on a fire truck and will be available for photos in the Thrasher Park bandstand.

In past years, there has been an outdoor holiday movie after dark. We will update if more details become available. On this Friday evening, the downtown merchants and eateries will be open for dinner and shopping.

Christmas Village & Winter Festival

Friday, Dec. 2nd thru Sunday, Dec. 4th

The 2022 Downtown Norcross Christmas Village is a cheerful winter street festival. During the event, the downtown merchants will run shopping and dining specials.

The downtown streets will be very merry!
You can expect:

costumed characters (including Santa)
live music, bell ringers, and carolers
street vendors
food trucks
petting zoo
kids craft table

There will also be FREE holiday carriage rides around the historic town center, starting at 6 p.m. on Saturday, and also on select nights throughout December — all the details are below.

FREE holiday carriage rides in downtown Norcross

Head to charming, historic downtown Norcross this holiday season for a FREE carriage ride — then stay to do some shopping or have a cocktail in the historic Norcross town center. There are also lots of opportunities for a FREE photo with Santa Claus this month.

The carriage rides will take place on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. — from December 2nd to 21st in 2022.

You can board in front of Taste of Britain, located at 73 S. Peachtree St, Norcross, GA 30071.

You’re welcome to bring a blanket for your lap, if you think you’ll need one.
