How to Make Firecracker T-Shirts

It’s so easy to create theses Firecracker T-Shirts! You only need a few simple supplies.

Supplies You’ll Need for Firecracker T-Shirts

  • Plain white t-shirt
  • Cardboard – Insert this inside the t-shirt in-between the front and back layers. The cardboard ensures the t-shirt won’t become glued together as the paint dries.
  • Red and blue fabric paint
  • Disposable Pan – You can use anything you’d like to hold the craft paint.
  • Puffer Ball – They might be called different things, but you can look for one like in our photo. This ball is the exact one on Amazon that I ordered for our project!

Instructions for Firecracker T-Shirts

This Firecracker T-Shirts project is an easy one (which I love), however I do have a few tips to make it go smoothly! First, I know this goes without saying, but cover your work area with newspapers or a plastic tablecloth. After that, lay the t-shirt out flat and place cardboard or foam board in-between the front and the back of the t-shirt.

Next, pour the red paint into one pan and the blue paint into another pan. You could also use a disposable foam bowl or whatever you have that works to hold paint. Be sure to only use a little paint so only the bottom of the puffer ball is coated when you dip it. This will keep it looking like a firework instead of just a big spot on your Firecracker T-Shirts.

Lastly, dip the puffer ball in the paint and stamp it on the t-shirt! The pack of puffer balls I purchased came with a handful of them, so I’m using one puffer ball per color. Let dry for a few hours before wearing.

Aren’t these cute?! I can’t wait for you to try making these this summer!
