Paper Bag Bunny With Printable Template

Make a puppet using this printable paper bag bunny template with supplies you probably already have on hand. Crafting with paper is an easy way of keeping kids imagination flowing while creating their paper bag bunny. They will probably want to make a few, which will make for a great puppet show or play from a story the classroom may be reading.

While this is a perfect Easter craft idea, not all of us celebrate the same holidays. Those who do celebrate can make an Easter bunny and those that don’t can make a spring bunny. This makes it easier in the classroom. Although some children don’t celebrate Easter, they do hear about it in the classroom from other children. Teachers like to be inclusive, so during the school year the students learn about the celebrations other kids partake in.

Paper Bag Bunny Craft

Hop into the spring season with a fun and easy bunny craft for preschoolers, kindergarteners, or even at home. It is a fun way to help improve coordination while cutting and gluing the pieces to make a rabbit paper bag puppet.

Some kids may need a bit of extra help with the tracing and cutting, so always make sure that there is an adult or older child around before beginning this paper bag bunny.

List of Supplies

1. Coloured craft papers (light grey, white, pink, peach, and dark grey)
2. Brown Paper bag
3. Sharpie
4. Craft glue
5. Pencil
6. Scissors
7. Printable paper bag bunny template

How to make a Paper Bag Bunny

Step 1:

Select white, pink, peach, and 2 different shades of grey coloured craft papers for the Easter bunny craft idea. Trace the inner ear on a peach paper, nose, and blush cutouts on pink paper, trace the tail, tooth, and the belly patterns on white paper, trace the head, body (see next step), and outer ear patterns on the lighter shade of grey paper, and then trace the leg patterns on the other shade of grey paper. Cut out the traced pattern nicely.

Step 2:

Attach the inner ear cutouts on the outer ear cutouts and attach the nose cutout near the bottom/middle part of the head cutout. Cut out a piece of paper from the lighter shade of grey coloured craft paper to cover either side of the paper bag. This will be the body pattern of the bunny puppet. Attach the leg cutouts on the bottom side of the body cutout.

Step 3:

Attach the ear pattern on the top side of the head pattern.

Step 4:

Attach the eyes, blush, and tooth cutouts on the head pattern nicely.

Step 5:

Use a sharpie or gel pen to draw the outline of the eyes and to trace the mouth of the paper craft bunny puppet. Attach the tail on any one side of the body pattern while keeping the round end of the tail facing outside. Select a paper bag for the bunny puppet craft.

Step 6:

The open end of the paper bag will be on the bottom side of the brown paper bag bunny. Attach the body pattern on either side of the paper bag and remember to keep the legs facing the open end of the bag.

Step 7:

Attach the head pattern on the bottom side of the paper bag and then flatten the head with the body pattern to complete the Easter bunny paper bag puppet.
