- Construction paper in orange
- School glue
- Yellow tissue paper
- White paper dessert plate
- Craft pipe cleaners
Step 1:
Each person will need some glue, a pencil, small white dessert plate, and a pile of yellow tissue paper.
Pour out about a quarter of white glue onto a paper plate.
Step 2:
Holding the pencil, place a piece of yellow tissue paper over the pencil’s eraser and twist so the tissue paper is lightly wrapped around the pencil.
Step 3:
Dip the tissue paper in the glue using only a small amount, then place it on the white dessert plate.
Step 4:
Continue gluing the tissue paper pieces onto the paper plate until it is filled.
Once the plate is filled, set aside to dry.
Step 5:
Once the glue is dry, softly press down on the tissue paper to give it a crinkly, feathered look.
Step 6:
This step is all about the face! Add a beak using a strip of orange constrution paper. Fold part of the paper strip in half, draw a triangle on it and cut out. The fold will allow the beak to open up, which is a cute little detail.
You can add on the googly eyes once the beak is in place.
Step 7:
Every chick needs some chicken feet. Cut a pipe cleaner into 4th. Take two ends and wrap one around the other until it forms a foot. Then repeat with the other pipe cleaner pieces.
Glue or tape these to the back of the paper plate.
Now you have an adorible Paper Plate Chick. Just ready for some spring fund!
