The San Diego Festival of Science and Engineering is hosting its’ signature STEAM block party, Fern Street Circus is performing their mesmerizing Spring Neighborhood Tour (which is free!), and the Cinco de Mayo Festival is back in its full glory. Mission Fed Artwalk
Mission Fed ArtWalk is back for a weekend-long festival. The festival attracts locals and visitors, giving all an opportunity to meet more than 250 artists and purchase art directly from the creators. The largest and longest-running arts festivals in Southern California showcases every medium of art, including painting, sculpture, glasswork, photography, fine jewelry and more. Kids will love the interactive art activities and family-friendly projects at KidsWalk, street food, and live entertainment, including a Gator by the Bay-themed stage featuring a fabulous lineup of NOLA-style music. STEAM Block Party
The STEAM Block Party is the San Diego Festival of Science & Engineering’s signature event that shines a spotlight on art, science, and culture in and around San Diego. A family fun day at the park with booths, a scavenger hunt, live music, and much more! Fun Animal Friday: Barnyard Buddies
Join the San Diego Children’s Discovery Museum for Fun Animal Friday with Barn Animal Buddies, Friday, April 29, from 10 am to 12 pm. Fern Street Circus
Join Fern Street Circus for its Spring Neighborhood Tour, which includes a series of free public performances at various parks and community centers around San Diego’s mid-city neighborhoods, showcasing the talents of professional circus artists and musicians from around the world alongside students from Fern Street Circus’s free after-school program in City Heights. With a theme of “Come Out! Come Out,” the multi-generational shows feature bilingual ringmaster Memo Mendez, live music, and a variety of circus acts, including juggling, clowning, contortion, and tumbling, tightwire, puppetry, and more. The global cast includes professional circus artists from Guinea, Ethiopia, Colombia, Chile, the United Kingdom, and Canada. All shows are free and open to the public. Fiesta Cinco De Mayo
The 39th Annual Old Town Fiesta de Cinco de Mayo is back and will be a weekend of fiery fun. This free event will be EN FUEGO with entertainment for the whole family- live music, traditional dance performances, local food vendors, festive drink specials and authentic artwork crafted by talented local artisans. Rooftop Cinema: Sing 2
Situated on the 4th-floor terrace of the Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego, this location is a fantastic spot to enjoy movies on a big screen under the stars. Saturday’s showing of the fan-favorite Sing 2 will entertain the whole family. Doors open 30 minutes before the screening, allowing plenty of time to grab your headphones, select a seat and enjoy the Rooftop experience! Food and beverage will be available on-site and at classic cinema concessions with contactless orders and pick-up. Screenings that begin before 4:30 p.m. are open to all ages, while those starting at 4:30 p.m. or later are strictly 18+.
