Ingredients You Need For Pasta Parmesan Soup

PastaDitalini pasta is what I used, but you can use any other smaller pasta. This is just our traditional go-to pasta for this parmesan pasta soup.

Chicken Stock – Now you can use bone broth as well or if you want a vegetarian soup then go ahead and swap with a vegetable stock instead of chicken stock.

Garlic and Parsley – These two simple ingredients do add a nice level of flavor to the pasta without overpowering it.

Salt and Pepper – Optional but we find it helps to elevate all the flavors.

Parmesan – I love to shave fresh parmesan off a block, but in a pinch you can reach for pre-shredded parmesan or flakes. You want the parmesan to offer that fresh flavor to help give the soup additional flavor.

Best Pot To Use For Soup

I find that using quality style soup pot is best. Having a heavy duty bottom is going to allow your soup to evenly cook. Some pans and pots that are less quality can offer hot and colder spots when cooking which provides an uneven finished product.

You can serve the soup alone, or you can go for a bagged salad like a Caesar. Or opt for some breadsticks or even garlic bread. Now if you are reheating the soup, you could even pair next to some turkey sliders to help make the dish more filling.

I buy these plastic soup containers and store leftover soup in these containers. They are so easy to stack on top of each other and reduce space used in the fridge.

The soup itself will store for 3-4 days. This is a great one to use for taking for lunches, reheating for a simple grab and eat dinner, etc.

Now in terms of freezing, the soup can be frozen. The idea though is to cook the pasta 1-2 minutes less, so the pasta isn’t fully cooked. That way when you go to reheat it won’t break down the pasta too much.

You can freeze it if fully cooked just know the pasta itself will be softer. Still delicious, but the texture is going to be a little bit different is all.
