Ingredients for Lemon Poppy Seed Bread

For the bread you’ll need the following:

- 1/3 cup sour cream

- zest from 1 lemon
- 1 3/4 cup flour
- 1 cup sugar

- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3 tablespoons poppy seeds
For the glaze you’ll need:
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- zest from 1/2 lemon
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 1/4 cup powdered sugar
How to Make Lemon Poppy Seed Bread
STEP ONE: In a large bowl, add the eggs and beat on high for 60-90 seconds until they are foamy.
STEP TWO: Add the wet ingredients then mix until smooth.

STEP THREE: Add the zest and lemon juice, and mix.
STEP FOUR: Sift together the dry ingredients (minus the poppy seeds).
STEP FIVE: Add to the wet ingredients, and mix until combined. Stir in poppy seeds.
STEP SIX: Pour into a loaf pan, and bake at 350 for 40-50 minutes.

STEP SEVEN: Remove from oven, and let cool completely before glazing.
STEP EIGHT: To make the glaze, whisk together all of the glaze ingredients.
