My Big List of Goals I’m Going to Accomplish in 2022 Week 21 of 52

Posted by admin on

Here’s my big list of things I want to accomplish in 2022:

Remodel The Kitchen

All kitchen projects are on hold until the dishwasher, and oven are delivered. Which is a good thing… because I’m having too much fun playing in my new religious family sized garden plot to care about anything kitchen related. 🙂

Sell Enough Rugs to Buy an AGA Stove {$15,322.45 of $22,000 earned so far}

I sold a few more of my new hooked rugs last week and now I am right around the 70% mark of funds for my new AGA stove. HOW COOL IS THAT!?  Only $6,677.55 to go until I’ve earned enough with my hooked rugs to get the stove I’ve wanted for the last 20 years. 🙂

Fill the Canning Cupboard

I’m working on it! I have 2 new recipes I want to try this week, and the fun part is I already have all the ingredients I need.

So far this year I have canned:

Not canned but in jars:

Earn Enough Money Selling {?????} To Pay For Our 2022 Grocery Tab By The End Of The Year.

I think I’ll just have to wait until things calm down before I list my beach finds.

Eat More Fruits and Vegetables.

The fruit and veggie fairy made a visit last week and so we’ve been eating our way through an assortment of goodness. {I’ll tell you more about it tomorrow}.

Keep The Crafts… In The Craft Room.

I made it through a 4th week with no crafts in the dining room. I think that might be a record.

The lilacs are in bloom all over town. They’re so pretty I had to stop at a roadside stand and get a bundle for the table. I told the HH he needed to add lilac bushes to our 2023 garden as they are so fragrant.

Plus, we could make a batch of Susan’s Lilac Blossom Jelly if we had some growing in our own yard.

Tap Our 2 Maple Trees and Make Maple Syrup {DONE}

It was a good experience, and we’re going to do it again next year {although I would like to find a few more trees to tap so our yield is a bit higher}.

Make a Quilt Top

I made zero progress on my quilt top this past week. But I have until the end of the year to complete this goal so I’m not too worried about it.

Be More Intentional With My Time

Rain barrels. If I’m going to have a greenhouse someday, I should probably start researching them.

1 Craft / Blog Free Day {I’ve had 18 craft/blog free days this year so far.}

Keep My Husband Busy

As soon as the HH fixed the wheelbarrow, his tractor displayed an error code and so the tractor people had to come pick it up and bring it back to the shop to fix the issue.

So basically he’s been without it for about 5 days now and his work in the religious family vegetable garden has been put on hold until the shop brings it back in a few days.

Last week he kept busy installing by a new tv at the neighbors place, ordered firewood, {there is a month wait!!} mowed the back 40, stopped by the recycling center, chauffeured The Girl and I around and ran a bunch of errands {that I didn’t want to do} so there wasn’t much down time for him.

I think this week I’m going to try and see if he will build me some window boxes for the front of the house. 🙂

The HH’s Honey Do List {so far} for 2022

  • Take over cooking {I’ll still do the baking and canning}
  • Cut down the cluster of trees in the backyard DONE
  • Build a new set of stairs down to the water.
  • Fill the field {with soil}
  • Remodel 1 bathroom
  • Replace fireplace tile
  • Build window boxes for the front of the house
  • Build an arbor for the wisteria
  • Order 4 cords of firewood by the end of May and stack them in an artful way {like they did in the book Norwegian Wood}.
  • Sand the floors in the entire house DONE
  • Install new garage door openers {new addition}
  • Build a wood shed {new addition}

My House Projects For This Year {so far}

All I care about is gardening right now. Once the rest of my seeds are planted {June 1st for corn, squash and melons} then I’ll start working on my list. Finishing up where I left off last summer painting the outside of the house will probably be first.

  • Finish painting the outside of the house
  • Finish painting the inside of the house {working on it}
  • Make something to hang above our new console table
  • Make it look like people actually live here HA HA HA
  • New window treatment for the kitchen window

Try 24 New Recipes {9 down, 15 to go}

So far this year I have shared the following recipes:

Listen to 12 Audiobooks {11/12 so far}

This past week I listened to Seven at Sea by Erik and Emily Orton. It’s a story about a family of 7 that took 10 months off to sail from the Caribbean to New York. And then kind of really never went back to the “conventional” type of life.

Audiobooks I’ve listened to this year:

Get a Fishing License and Catch a Fish

But first, we have to get the dinghy in the water.

  • Finish mulching tomato plants with seaweed {and maybe some other plants too if I have enough time}.

Other garden projets that need to be completed this summer:

  • Map out this year’s garden by April 1stdone

I’m done with garden markers and ornaments for the year. Yipee!

52 Walks {We’ve gone on 11 of 52 so far}

I thought we would have more walks down by now, I guess we’ve just been busy with so much other stuff we haven’t made this goal much a priority. 🙁

Visit 12 Towns in Maine That I Haven’t Been to Before

Washington, Maine! 🙂 What a fun little town. Now that the weather has warmed up, we’re looking forward to getting out more and exploring.

So far we’ve visited:

How about YOU? How did you do with working towards your goals for 2022?
