Lasagna is one of my favorite foods. Does this mean that I’m like Garfield?
I got an edge brownie pan as a Christmas gift from one of my family members (he claimed it was more of a gift for him so that I can always make him brownies O(≧▽≦)O). (I actually have two of them because the first got scratched up so he got me another one :))
Sadly, I didn’t take a photo of the finished product and it was devoured too quickly. Will definitely update once I make it again and take photos.
The pasta that is written makes enough pasta for 2 lasagnas.
(1 edge brownie pan)
Ingredients (for pasta; halve if you’re only making one pan of lasagna):
- 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 4 eggs, room temp.
Ingredients (for one pan of lasagna):
- 5 Italian sausages (I take mine out of the casing so that it’s more like ground pork)
- mushrooms
- onions
- garlic
- pasta sauce
- chili flakes
- 16 ounces ricotta cheese
- 1 egg
- mozzarella cheese
- Parmesan cheese
Directions:
- Mound the flour on a surface. Use the measuring cup to make a well in the center of the mound.
- Crack the eggs into the well. Use a fork to lightly beat the eggs. Gradually pull flour from the inner rim of the well into the egg until a dough begins to form. As you add more, use your hands to knead into a cohesive dough.
- Knead until dough becomes smoot, elastic, and slightly tacky (~ 5min)
- Cover dough with a clean towel and let rest at room temp. for 20 minutes.
- Cut dough into 6 pieces. Take one piece and roll out. (I don’t have a pasta machine, so I just roll it with a rolling pin as thin as possible)
- Boil pasta for ~30 sec in a salted pot of water.
- Drain on a paper towel and use for lasagna.
- Make ricotta mix: 16 ounces ricotta cheese + 1 egg.
- Make meat sauce: 5 Italian sausages (I buy mine from Costco) + mushrooms (as much as desired) + sugar (to taste) + chili flakes + pasta sauce (sauté sausages + mushrooms + onions + garlic on stove until cooked; add pasta sauce)
- Layer lasagna
- Bake at 350F for 35-50 min, depending on how brown you want your cheese.
- Consume.
