PRICE ALERT: Save P20/Kilo On Eggplants This Week

Posted by Admin on

Have you been missing eating tortang talong dishes lately because of their high price at the palengkes? This week, you can save P20 per kilo on eggplants if you're looking to satisfy that craving! Eggplants or talong went down to P100 per kilo this week from its high of P120.

Among all the vegetables that the Department of Agriculture (DA) monitors on its Bantay Presyo reports, the eggplant is one of four that are P100 and below. The other three below-P100 veggies are sayote and kalabasa (squash) both at P50 per kilo and pechay Tagalog at P70 per kilo.

The bad news is that eggs finally saw a price increase of 50 centavos making it P7.50 per medium egg in your tray starting this week.

We have a great talong prepping tip on how to do just that: The trick is to not only steam the talong once the peel is completely charred but to use a kitchen towel or paper towel to get a good grip on the peel to remove it.
